As you know, I set, go public on and report my personal goals progress annually. This is an exercise I have been doing since 2015 and as a result I have seen a significant improvement in my achievements and in the areas of my life where I choose to focus. You can click these links to read My 2018 Goals and my monthly progress updates for 2018 if you want to know how things went last year 🙂 (it wasn’t plain sailing!).
As in previous years, I’ve used the Wheel of Life template to get a visual representation of where I am now. This helps me prioritise the areas that need most attention or that I’m most drawn to, as trying to work on things that don’t interest me or serve no real purpose will see my motivation dwindle to nothing very quickly!
For those of you who are familiar with my 2018 goals, then you will see some common ground here. Some goals, although progressed, weren’t completed last year, so I’ve picked them up again for further action in 2019.
I’ve also considered which goals are public and which ones will remain private, so even though you see a list of goals here, I also have a number of other goals that (for now, at least) will remain private.
So, with that said, let’s get going…!
My Personal Goals for 2019
The list below isn’t written in any particular order.

You may remember from my 2016 blog Making Planning Fun, that we had challenged ourselves to fill a sealed jar with places (in the UK) we’d like to visit in 2017. This turned into such a fun way to plan our travel, that it’s now become an annual tradition! We’ve since upgraded the jar to an ornamental owl – known as The Travel Owl! which was emptied of all its little bits of paper on New Year’s Eve. These are now our travel goals for 2019: | |

Whether we like it or not, time is passing and life is happening all around. Without this kind of focus, the life that happens might not be what I want it to be (or even an approximation of it), but with focus, effort and application, I have at least a chance of achieving a life I want!
I’ll keep a running list of my progress updates here 🙂

So now it’s your turn. Have you identified your goals for 2019? Where do you want to go? What do you want to do? How much money do you want to earn? Will you be changing your job? The list of possibilities is endless, but simply because of this, it’s an extremely useful exercise to narrow down the choices and commit to the things that will make your year memorable for all the right reasons!
