You will have heard me say a number of times that we must never let the negative attitudes of others discourage us from pursuing our goals. I’ve said it so many times because we hear negativity and discouragement so often that we need to be frequently reminded to keep going. So, in the interests of counteracting any negativity you’ve experienced recently, this entire blog is given over to encouraging YOU!
YOU are the reason I set this blog and my Facebook page up, YOU are the reason I want to check in every day and to find everything I think will help you in your quest to achieve your goals. So, this blog is especially for YOU!
I know it’s hard for you to keep going sometimes. I know you feel tired, I know that you feel you’ve given all that you can, but, I also know that you’re the kind of person who will never give up because you know there’s more to you than the world is currently seeing. That new person will OUT sooner or later, as there’s no way s/he’s staying cooped up inside! So just give it that little bit more today, now, because I know you can…I know you will…
Is something standing in your way? Is there an obstacle you can’t quite get past? Come on, think, think, think! I don’t want you to fall at this hurdle, because I know that whatever the problem is, you are greater than it. It’s merely testing your resolve! Just think how much stronger you’ll be when you conquer this fiend that’s trying to hold you in chains? You are not the type of person who surrenders to problems; you are a master problem solver! You were made to discover the solution to this problem! It will not hinder your progress! Go slay that dragon!
Have you experienced a recent ‘failure’? Has it dented your confidence? Don’t let ‘failures’ hold you back; it’s probably the best thing that could’ve happened! What have you learned? That you need to learn a new skill; that a relationship wasn’t what you thought; that pizza and chocolate make a poor combination?! Whatever the outcome, there was no failure. You were trying something out to see if it would work, but it didn’t. So? What are you going to do now? There is no failure only learning experiences. Find the lesson. Wow! You’ve just grown! What an opportunity to put your new found knowledge to work!
I’m so impressed with everything you’ve achieved so far. Have you taken a moment to appreciate the efforts you’ve made? Look back for a moment, do you see? I hope so, because it’s time to celebrate your progress, the steps that brought you forward, even the ones that seemed to take up backwards, but as we know, even the backward steps have given you the needed lesson. Can you now see them within the learning context? Indulge yourself for a little while, let the positive progress wash over you and feel the positivity, value and growth you’ve experienced. Don’t dismiss these feelings lightly, instead use them as energy to propel yourself further forward.
Does everything feel a little bit too messy? Does it make you feel like you’re heading in the wrong direction? Well, you’ll be pleased to know that progress is messy! If you’re trying to find your feet, sometimes you’ll slip and get a little messed up. Accept it as a child would and get back on your feet and try again. Somewhere in that slip up are the seeds of success! None of us are born with all the skills knowledge and aptitudes we need to successfully arrive at our goal unscathed; we’re meant to get a little messy en route! So go for it, get messy; it’s a necessity!
So as you start each new day, really know this:
It’s your goal, so own it!
- You already have the capability to succeed
- You already have enough capacity to succeed
- You already have enough skill, knowledge and resources to make a start now
- Anything else you need to progress will become visible and available to you on your journey
- You deserve to reach your goal and that is no one’s business but your own
No matter what doubts you may have, I BELIEVE IN YOU!
Let’s just finish with some inspiring words from Muhammad Ali:
I know where I’m going and I know the truth, and I don’t have to be what you want me to be. I’m free to be what I want.

It’s a great quote, from a man who knew exactly what he wanted to achieve and was very determined and focussed in his attempts to get there. A great lesson to us all.
Thanks for stopping by!
