My Personal Goals Progress Update for May 2018
It’s time for my May goals progress update for 2018. If you want to check back you can find my detailed list of 2018 Goals here.
I successfully used this public accountability method in 2017 so see no reason to avoid going public with my goals progress in 2018!
Public accountability is a really useful method for staying on track, it’s also great for reviewing what is and isn’t working. Sometimes that will mean that some goals will change or be removed altogether. But the great thing is that these are my goals, so I can change them as often as I like! If you choose to write up or already have some personal goals then doing a regular review and write up is a great way to stay on track!
So here we go… 🙂
The Summary Table
For 2018 I’ve introduced a summary table, so that I and you can see at a glance if I’m on track!
Fun and Travel
We (finally!) made our trip to The Cotswolds in May after delaying it for a couple of weeks as my husband was poorly. As it turned out, we rebooked it on the bank holiday weekend which turned out to have glorious weather! We visited some of the pretty little Cotswold villages like Stow on the Wold as well as having a fun day out at Warwick Castle and a visit to Leamington Spa and Upton House & Gardens.
Next on the list is Vienna, which, as I write this is just a few days away! Woop!!
So here’s how our travel plans are now looking:
~> Munich – Complete!
~> The Cotswolds – Complete!
~> Vienna – booked for June
~> York – booked for July
~> New York – booked for November
~> The Lake District – not yet booked.
Health
Weight Loss and Fitness
Though it’s hard to admit it…I’m going to have to report a 1lb gain in May 🙁 .
Early in the month I can ‘blame’ our trip to The Cotswolds, where we did our fair share of eating and drinking! But, once we were back I stuck to plan quite rigidly but the scales also stuck. I think I became a bit disheartened with the lack of progress which then led to a bit of a ‘pity me’ food splurge! The result…a 1lb gain.
I must admit I’m finding the whole weightloss goal quite frustrating, but, there’s nothing to do except keep moving forward, otherwise things could be a whole lot worse!

Increase # of blogs published to six/month
I’ve (only) managed to post three new blogs this month, which is below my monthly target. It felt as if the ‘muse’ had deserted me in May, which is so frustrating! But, onward and upward as they say, no time to wallow!

Personal Growth
Read A Minimum of 18 Books
I finished two books this month, one fiction and one non-fiction. They’ve been added to the list below.
I’ve decided to add a regular fiction book to my list and was drawn to read The Tobacconist as it’s set in Vienna, which is the destination of our next trip!
Books completed in 2018
The 5 Second Rule by Mel Robbins (Audible)
The Tobacconist by Robert Seethaler (Fiction)
The Most Powerful Goal Achievement System in the World by Mike Pettigrew (Audible)
Attend (virtually or in person) at least 1 course in support of my goals
Not progressed, not yet due.
Contribution
To Participate in a Fitness-Related Charity Event
Not progressed, not yet due.
Home Environment
To Re-Decorate & Furnish Two Rooms (Conservatory & Living Room)
The conservatory – COMPLETE! Yay!!
The living room is now be scheduled for later in the year as we’ll be starting to focus on the garden through the Spring and Summer.
To Re-Vamp My Garden
There’s not much visible progress at the moment, although the plan of how the garden will look is taking shape. We’re going to need to get some help in in the form of someone to dig out some concrete, overgrown ivy (I hate ivy!) and the lawn as this will be re-turfed. Then we’re going to put some decking down in a sunny corner ready for a small bistro style table and chairs.
There’s also a garden shed to be moved as it’s taking up a space that we’d like to re-purpose for BBQs and eating alfresco!
Relationships
To Log Meet-Ups and Birthdays Remembered
• Meet-ups this month: (1)
• Birthdays remembered (2); missed 🙁 (1)
Completed Goals
~ > The weekly subscriber email has been revised and updated.
~ > My vision board has been created.
~ > We’ve been to Munich and The Cotswolds.
~ > My Closed Facebook Group is now up and running.
~ > Number of books read this year so far: (3)
~ > The conservatory has been re-decorated.
A bit of a mixed month. I really enjoyed our trip to The Cotswolds and it’s been good to get back into some regular reading and actually making progress. On the other hand, I’m disappointed with the weight gain and need to re-apply myself to this goal…once I’m back from Vienna!
