My Personal Goals Progress Update for June 2019
As you know, I set, go public on and report my personal goals progress annually. This is an exercise I have been doing since 2015 and as a result I have seen a significant improvement in my achievements and in the areas of my life where I choose to focus. You can click these links to read My 2018 Goals and my monthly progress updates for 2018 if you want to know how things went last year 🙂 (it wasn’t plain sailing!).
As in previous years, I’ve used the Wheel of Life template to get a visual representation of where I am now. This helps me prioritise the areas that need most attention or that I’m most drawn to, as trying to work on things that don’t interest me or serve no real purpose will see my motivation dwindle to nothing very quickly!
For those of you who are familiar with my 2018 goals, then you will see some common ground here. Some goals, although progressed, weren’t completed last year, so I’ve picked them up again for further action in 2019.
I’ve also considered which goals are public and which ones will remain private, so even though you see a list of goals here, I also have a number of other goals that (for now, at least) will remain private.
So here we go… 🙂
The Summary Table
Here’s a summary of progress so far:
Fun and Travel
Another travel adventure has been ticked off our list with our latest trip to London earlier this month.
This was a quick overnight trip to take in a show. We chose to see Matilda which was great fun! I’m amazed at the little actors and actresses, so young and yet they were awesome. The show is really high-energy and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
In the remaining time we visited the Imperial War Museum, wandered around the shops and ate some really good food!
Next we’ll be off to Spain for a more leisurely break!
Here are our travel plans for 2019:
~> Venice – Complete!
~> Knaresborough, Yorkshire – Complete!
~> Rome – Complete!
~> London & Show – Complete!
~> Family holiday to Spain – Booked
~> Stratford Upon Avon – Booked
Health and Fitness
To Weight 9 1/2 stone (133lbs)
Another challenging month on the weight loss front. There’s been no change this month overall, although as in previous months, my weight has fluctuated both ways!
Tenacity is the ability to hang on when letting go appears most attractive.
Unknown
I’ve had to remind and cajole myself to keep going on many an occasion while the results are so slow to show. Keeping on, keeping on has to be the way to go…sigh!
To Join and Regularly Attend A Yoga Class
On hold.
I’ve decided to put attending an actual yoga class on hold for the time being. Right now I’m making an effort to get outside more and do more walking. I’m currently managing around 40,000 – 50,000 steps per week, which isn’t too bad considering I spend most of my day sitting at a desk.
Achieve Your Best Life
Publish 1 Blog per Week
This is complete for May and you can see or click and read from the list below!
1 – My Goals Progress Update for May 2019
2 – Who Am I? <<– most popular post this month!
3 – 30 Things That Make Me Happy
4 – In The Words of Earl Nightingale
To Create and Run 1 or More Workshop(s)
On hold.
As we’re now heading into the main holiday period of the year, I’ve decided to hold further progress on this for a month or two with a view to holding a workshop in September. I think this will sit well with the feeling of holidays being over with and it being time to get back to business.
To Increase Total Follower Numbers Across All Media
Follower numbers at 31st May – 1,430
Follower numbers at 30th June – 1,434
Complete Overhaul of my Website Including New Theme
The tidying up continues (I seem to discover new, useful functionality as I go along), so will keep chipping away at it. But as far as the goal is concerned, this is now complete! (Reported last month.)
Personal Growth
Create A Vision Board in Support of my Goals
This is now complete! I love vision boards, so this has been a fun task to do! (Reported last month.)
Read A Minimum of 18 Books
I’ve finished reading or listening to (via Audible) five books so far in 2019, with a few more in progress.
Books completed in 2019
> Black Hole Focus by Isaiah Hankel (Audible, re-listen)
> Run Fat Bitch Run by Ruth Field (Audible)
> Atomic Habits by James Clear <<– highly recommended
> The Miracle Equation by Hal Elrod <<– highly recommended
> You Are a Badass by Jen Sincero (Audible, re-listen) <<– fun & motivational
Attend (virtually or in person) at least 1 course in support of my goals
At the end of 2018 I started an online course about course creation and have continued with it into 2019. This course is now complete!
Contribution (Environmental)
To Set Aside Part of the Garden and Grow Some Veggies
Not started yet.
Home Environment
To Re-Decorate & Furnish Two Rooms (Conservatory & Living Room)
Not started yet.
To Continue and Complete My Garden Makeover
I’ve heard it said that things often get worse before they get better. Well, that would be an apt description of how the garden is looking at the moment. There are piles of earth, empty holes, a wooden frame and a general mess wherever you look!
Progress has also been hampered by poor weather and commitments which have taken us away from home.
But that’s life, as they say, and so we keep pushing along, especially now that the weather has improved in the hope of making a breakthrough soon!
Family and Friends
To Log Meet-Ups and Birthdays Remembered

• Birthdays remembered (4); Missed (0) 🙂
Completed Goals
~ > We’ve been to Venice, Knaresborough, Rome and London 🙂
~ > All planned March, April, May and June blog posts published 🙂
~ > Overhaul of website = done 🙂
~ > Completed a virtual course in support of my goals = done 🙂
~ > Vision Board has been completed 🙂
June has felt a little slow in terms of outputs and completions, but this is because there are lots of larger tasks and projects currently progressing. These will come to fruition in the fullness of time and for now it’s important to remain patient…hmmm!!
